Six local businesses back Bridgnorth Loco Statue Trail.

AV Birch are among six local businesses backing an art project featuring up to fifteen statues of the iconic worlds first fayre-paying passenger steam locomotive from 1808.  No stranger to steam engines, Bridgnorth is also home to the Severn Valley Railway, itself a major tourism attraction.

Vince Jones, Director of AV Birch, a manufacturing business based a few miles from the town, hopes that the trail will encourage even more tourism to boost the Shropshire towns fortunes; “At AV Birch we design and manufacture equipment for the rail industry, so this project is a link back to the origins of train travel, as well as promoting our part of the world where many of our staff & their families live. We are delighted to be a part of it.”

Set to open in Summer 2018, the other businesses involved in the project are Bridgnorth Aluminium, Alfa Travel, Grainger & Worrall Ltd, Bridgnorth Rugby Club and Holden’s Brewery.
