Brief History
A V Birch was formed in 1977 and started operations from the premises at Cross Houses, Ludlow Road, Bridgnorth. At the beginning the company offered engineering services to the local industrial and agricultural community. Provided services were: welding, machining, rolling, profiling and maintenance work.
A V Birch had been growing steadily, but consistently over the years and in 1992 became a Limited company.
In 1997 A V Birch Limited moved to our new purpose built premises located at Muckley Cross and increased our workforce to 22. The team nowadays includes skilled welders, fabricators, fitters and electricians.
In 1993, the company started manufacturing hydraulic presses for our sister company A V B MILLS LIMITED, who offer a complete service to the hydraulic press industry, from design, to supply of all types of hydraulic presses, ranging from 0.5 tonne to 500 tonne capacity.

A V Birch Today
Over the years the company extended it's range to include manufacture of our own product machinery for use in the Timber Roof Truss Industry. This includes the manufacture of the Birch 2500M, 3500M and 5000M range of presses for the production of roof trusses, together with all subsidiary equipment requested. The Birch 2500M' is regarded as one of the best of its type and has resulted in sales throughout the UK and Europe and as far away as Guadeloupe.
We offer a full 24-hour breakdown service in the UK mainland and a 48-hour breakdown service into Europe. Another part of the truss division is the refurbishment of multi-blade and single blade timber saws for the cutting of timber roof trusses. Along with the manufacture and refurbishment work A V Birch Limited have recently been appointed official service and installation engineers for Randek Saws (Sweden). | |
